The rapid beeping noise of the radio going off is enough to make Price sigh in his chair. Honestly, Johnny was surprised how quickly the man woke up. He slept like a damn rock and snored louder than the kettle, but that alarm had him up in the blink of an eye. Johnny glances towards the larger radio in the living area of the station to listen to the dispatcher relay the call, "Medic four, delta vehicle crash at the corner of Watson Street and Crick Boulevard near the Walmart." Price huffs before going over to the radio to click the button and respond, "Medic four, copy, go ahead." Johnny watches with rapt attention as the dispatcher continues after Price's go-ahead, "Medic four, delta vehicle crash at the corner of Watson Street and Crick Boulevard. Motorcycle vs motor vehicle. Fire is on their way. Motorcyclist unresponsive and the person in the car needs extrication. Police are also on the way."
OR
Johnny becomes an EMT after college and joins the city EMS department where he meets the 141 crew. Even theoretical scenarios can only prepare him so much for the things he will see on the job. After all, what kind of job is it if you're not learning 90% of it while actively doing it?

Roy Mustang's words were laced with a thoughtful hum, and Edward tried not to feel hurt by the misassumption. Many heard his title and assumed it came down to his automail arm and leg. Ed had just hoped the Colonel - after everything - would've been different; that Mustang would've looked past Edward's ill-fitting uniform and cripplingly-heavy automail and only see him as a person.
''But,'' Mustang continued, pensive, ''I think they spelled your title wrong. You're not Fullmetal, you should be Fullmettle. As in, you are full of mettle.''
Edward blinked, utterly baffled.
''Mettle, kid. M-E-T-T-L-E.''
Mustang spelled it out for him. Literally. A genuine smile tugged at the Colonel's lips as he rumbled out a fleeting chuckle, affectionately sweeping a hand over the top of Edward's golden crown. The boy's throat constricted as an annoying warm blur suddenly invaded his vision. He had experienced more kind words and actions under this man's brief command than he had experienced in a long, long time.
It was just a shame that it was only a temporary arrangement.

He really wishes he could use his umbrella, but there’s no point. It would just turn over or rip apart anyway. This weather really is best avoided, he thinks as he makes his way through the campus gates. There’s barely any light, since all the shops have closed some hours ago, only the streetlights help him find his way. With visibility so low, Xeno almost doesn’t notice the tiny figure that’s huddled up in the entrance of a nearby café. He has half a mind to hurry off but curiosity has always got the better of him and so he moves closer. What he finds is a child, sitting on the floor, arms wrapped around their legs and face pressed against their knees. The child makes no sound, but Xeno can tell they’re crying.
