Batman muttered something under his breath too similar to ‘fuck’. Clark felt his anger rising.
“No, you listen to me. Do you want yourself to get killed? When was the last time you slept?”
Batman opened his mouth to answer but Clark cut him.
“On a proper bed, not in front of any kind of monitor.”
Batman's mouth fell shut.
Clark sighed. Just what he thought.

Summary
Here stood two men, pretending to be lesser versions of themself for the greater good. It was as if together, they bared the lies they put up for the world, as each other’s brutally honest mirrors. It was suddenly painfully obvious to Clark, the act they both put on, the dichotomy between their conversation and their caricatures. He wondered why they still kept up appearances at all.
Superman and Batman have worked together. Bruce and Clark know each other superficially. They start dating to get over their respective crushes on the other hero.

Summary
Clark can smell the drugs the moment he steps inside. The problem is he doesn't realize who they're intended for until after Bruce Wayne has already ingested them.
He watches as Wayne inelegantly extracts himself from the arms of a woman just to stumble into a man and do the same thing over again. Switching to X-ray when the tight pack of people obscures his vision, he observes the man staggering through the room, heading for a side door tucked in a dark corner. When the heavy door swings shut behind him, Wayne puts a hand on the brick wall and slides to his knees, shoes scraping against the wet pavement.
Clark blinks, swallows, and navigates the crowd.
