Summary
Aposematism in animals is designed to prevent attack. It doesn't always work, sometimes it's ineffective against some predators, sometimes it isn't. As a primary defence mechanism, Newt is a colourful individual with his blue coat and golden hair. His secondary defences aren't visible however and often are what surprise his opponents the most. Bright creatures tend to be very toxic to predators, but mammals like honey badgers are aggressively defensive. Newt is a Hufflepuff and the emblem of his house suits him well. Signalling theory tells you that Newt warns off predators and opponents with his colours, but when they don't take heed he'll show his claws and fight tooth-and-nail. It's what survivors do.
And Newt Scamander is definitely a survivor.

Summary
Newt's family belongs to a very old society where are strict rules to follow. They don't see freedom and independence in omegas as qualities and they believe omegas are better married and controlled.
And they have their eyes on Newt.
Then the events in New York happen and they all demand the omega to get married to a pureblood alpha immediately. Theseus volunteer himself to protect his brother. Newt doesn't want him to sacrifice his life for him so he decides to find another solution.
He goes back to New York and is introduced to the wizard he saved, Percival Graves, the director of Magical Security at MACUSA and a very powerful alpha.
Percival falls in love and wants to court him. Newt thinks is the perfect way to escape his sentence. But when he mentions the idea to Theseus he doesn't accept it.
Because Theseus Scamander didn't volunteer just to save his brother. He did it because he wants Newt all to himself.

Summary
"A second chance,“ Death said.
Harry stopped in front of a bench and turned to look at the being. "A second chance at what?"
"Life."
Harry laughed bitterly. "Because that has worked out so great the first time?"
Death tilted its head. "You've changed," it stated.
"Life does that to you," Harry said and his mind felt clearer than ever, "Or should I say the last seven years. I never really left this place, have I? I lived a life feeling not quite dead and not alive either," he spat.
"I know how you feel," Death said after a moment, grinning.
"Oh, do you," Harry retorted and pierced Death with a look.
The being's smirk widened as it leaned closer.
"Bored."
Years after the war, Harry Potter lives an apathetic life. When Death offers him a second chance he takes it.
Accompanied by the being, Harry travels back to the summer before Sirius dies. Inside his younger body and the memories of an older self, Harry realizes that being connected to Death may have twisted his morals a little more than expected.
Seeking to make up for the boredom of past years, Harry isn't above carving his own space between two sides to even out the playing field.
