    "Why?" Regina whispered.
Emma didn't answer. Didn't know what to say.
She simply readjusted her grip — and led her on.

Regina is alive. That's the only truth Emma has.
She takes her son and the woman who tried to die and drives until Storybrooke is behind them — no plan, no destination, only the road and the certainty that staying would be worse.

    Summary

Contrary to popular belief, Maegelle Targaryen was not particularly pious.

Once, she had been — or at least, a version of her had. That Maegelle prayed faithfully until the day she died, and no prayer saved her.

She wakes again as a girl of ten, her mind burdened with knowledge of a future steeped in fire, grief, and quiet tragedies history would later dismiss as inevitable. Armed with memory rather than prophecy, Maegelle is trapped in a court where knowledge without power is its own kind of danger.

Promised to the Faith before she was old enough to choose, she had been removed from the board without question — and with her, any chance to intervene when her family needed her most. Determined not to let history repeat itself, Maegelle sets out to delay, resist, and ultimately challenge the path laid out for her.

She may not be able to stop every tragedy to come, but she can refuse to vanish quietly this time.

To be reborn into House Targaryen, some would say, is a blessing. It’s a gift to be made useful, not to be squandered. That’s what people said. That’s what people wrote.

Yet Mary Taylor would beg to differ. She’d trade it all, the dragons, the people, the realm itself, to go home.

    Summary

    The killing curse was green.

He had known that, of course, for fifty years. He had known it the way a man knows the color of his own front door — a fact so deeply ordinary that it lived below thought, below memory, occupying the same quiet shelf as the smell of the dungeons at Hogwarts in summer or the precise pressure required to snap a wand in half with one hand. He had cast it ten thousand times in his mind. He had cast it perhaps eight hundred times in practice, give or take the ones he could not remember because the years had a way of blurring at the edges when you had lived long enough to stop counting.

But he had never been on the receiving end.

And so the last thing Tom Marvolo Riddle ever consciously registered, in that cold stone corridor at Godric's Hollow with the wind shrieking beyond the shuttered windows, was that the curse coming back at him was the most perfect, most crystalline shade of green he had ever seen in his life. Not the murky, marsh-water green of certain potions. Not the flat, military green of uncut emerald. It was the green of something alive. Something that wanted.

    Then there was nothing.
