“Jean, what did we say about asking after Jeremy’s omega needs?” Laila yelled from the kitchen.
Jean blushed and if Jeremy had half a mind he would have said he almost growled. “He is my partner.”

Summary
Jean sighed, muttered something the textbooks and CD's certainly weren't teaching Jeremy, and said lowly, "I don't want any trouble."
Jeremy frowned. "Why would there be trouble?" Jean didn't answer for a long time, and Jeremy slowly said, "Jean, you're…kind of freaking me out, right now. Why would there be trouble? What happened?" Jean whined, and Jeremy moved to scoot forward again but was stopped by another hiss. "Jean, please," Jeremy begged. "Tell me what's going on!"
"I think I'm going into heat," Jean answered at last.
Jeremy's heart leapt into his throat. He gasped happily. "Jean, that's great!" He answered, elated. Jean had been in California with them for nearly eight months at that point, and had shown no signs of a cycle. "We've been waiting for this for so long! It's about time!"
Jean sniffed and his voice came out small, unsure, when he asked, "So, it…will be similar to Edgar Allan, then?"

“What am I supposed to do if I can’t make a nest that feels right?” Jeremy asked.
“You have time to practice," Laila said. "They told you it would take a while for everything to leave your system, right? So you have time until your heat comes.”
“Yeah, I know, but I feel like it’s not going to be any easier then either.”
“I’ll just have to show you what to do. Why don't you hire someone to build you one for now?”
“Like pay someone to make a nest for me? Isn’t that a little weird?”
When Jeremy Knox presented as an omega, he was forced onto blockers and suppressants and told to pretend he was a beta.
Now that he's moved out of his mother's house and living on his own, he has to figure out how to live as an omega. That includes how to build a nest before his heat shows up. Jeremy listens to Laila's suggestion to hire someone to build one for him, but when that someone turns out to be a tall, handsome alpha named Jean, Jeremy ends up with more than he bargained for.

The fresh bruises around Jeremy’s neck ache like a noose made out of thorns. He has no way of hiding them once he enters the house, and for the first time in a long time, Jeremy isn’t sure he wants to. Not that he’s proud of the reminders of what happened a few hours ago; he never is. But this time, he wants someone to reassure him that he’s worth more than his used body—that this fatigue of running away can be satisfied by someone’s comfort.
Jeremy’s recent hookup hurt more than it should have. For the first time since the start of this bad habit, he allows himself to find comfort in Jean.
