Kai’s face drained and tossed a lame excuse before storming of down the hallway. He threw himself through the first mens bathroom he saw and locked himself in a stall. Nya was friends with a vampire, I have to kill Nya’s friend. Kai really hated this job.

Kai doesn’t believe in fate. Not at all. The idea that there’s some sort of invisible power pushing events in the universe to happen is entirely ridiculous to him. He’s not one to say, “science would say otherwise,” but he’s never really believed in magic. And to Kai, the idea of a destined outcome to life is impossible, weird, and a bit creepy. So he doesn’t believe in fate.
And yet somehow, every other time he goes into an airport, he manages to keep running into the same damn guy.
