Summary
Dottore is not dead. He took two months to reassemble his soul—all of it, every deleted segment, every fragment, the original and everything after—into one complete person. He has been preparing for this for thirty years.
Pantalone finds this out when a voice speaks from the dark of his empty lab.
What follows: one surgical procedure, the end of a political engagement, a royal audience that goes better than expected, Childe being left unsupervised with three children for two months, and a total of four kids who completely wreck the genetic ledger. While the first three stubbornly turn out to be absolute carbon copies of Dottore, the fourth and final arrival finally breaks the streak, looking entirely like Pantalone.
Pantalone is still thoroughly annoyed that it took four separate attempts just to get a return on his investment.
