Summary
You walk down the steps of the house into the yard, taking in the twenty seconds of silence and solitude while smelling the scent of the yellow flowers as the breeze blows it toward you. Ten more seconds of solitude than you had expected when you strayed away. But you already hear quick footsteps against the wooden floors of the house. You barely made it five steps from the house before someone was already coming to find you.
"y/n." Shoto's calm voice meets your ears, hearing his soft steps in the grass coming to your side. He looks at the bushes that have been there for as long as you both can remember. "Do you still remember the stuff in this garden? Fuyumi has taken to making syrup cakes with the berries..." Shoto trails on, he looks at his twin, seeing her calm but still aloof face with short hair that has become as red as the berries that he still can't get used to, he isn't used to anything about you, not even your presence anymore. It's a familiar presence for both of you, but both of you now carry scars the other didn't witness and can't recognize.
"Barberries and Lesser Celandine..." You respond in a calm, quiet voice as you bend down and admire the yellow flowers. "Sourness of temper and joys to come."
