Derek knows he’s staring, knows he should stop, drag his focus back to his daughter and not this—this stranger, gorgeous as he is with his slight upturned nose and bright eyes, lips that Derek is going to see in his dreams and long fingers folded into a fist that his jaw rests on. He should stop staring but he feels punch-drunk, knocked off his feet by the overwhelming attraction he feels, blood pumping so fast he can hear it rushing in his ears, can feel it in his pulse points.
The guy turns his head to look up at Derek and winks—winks, and Derek gets a glimpse of a black bar that pierces through the end of his eyebrow, and he realizes he really needs to grab Evie and get out of there when he starts wondering if this guy has a tongue piercing to go along with the rest, or just how far across his broad shoulders the tattoos go, if they stretch all the way down his tapered hips, lines like a map for Derek to follow with his tongue.

“You mean my dad can’t see you leaving.” Stiles grins and imagines Derek slipping back out of the window in the pre-dawn hours, sending one final bright-eyed glance at him over his shoulder.
Here, in the bed, Derek shifts closer, his knee nudging at Stiles’ thighs and Stiles wonders how he’s supposed to go back to sleep under these conditions.

“Why not?” Stiles asked, confused and still half-asleep. He yawned as he rubbed both hands across his face again, and then froze at the next words out of Jeremy’s mouth.
“I figured you’d spend the weekend with your boyfriend.”
His what?
“My what?” he asked aloud.
“Your boyfriend,” Jeremy said, tilting his head slightly in confusion. “The angry, overprotective dude who came to get you? You could’ve just told us it was your boyfriend you know, you didn’t have to give us the song and dance ‘he’s my dad’s deputy’ routine. I kind of figured out you were lying about that in first year when you moved in with him for the summer.”
Stiles stared at him, completely flabbergasted about this entire situation.

“You know? Do I look alright?” Stiles says, gesturing to himself and he turns around, giving Derek the full picture. He might wiggle his ass a little for extra effect.
“It’s an old country pub. I’m sure you’ll be the best dressed there,” Derek shrugs casually, but it sounds a little choked.
“Would it kill you to give me an actual compliment on my birthday?” Stiles jokes, not really expecting an answer.
Derek shifts from foot to foot, clearing his throat.
“Your lips...” Derek says slowly.
“My... my lips?” Stiles says, surprise on his face.
“Yes. They’re... Erm... they’re very... shiny...” Derek says, grimacing.
Stiles snorts out a laugh and Derek glares.
“Thank you. That’s what I was going for. I’m glad... err... glad you noticed,” Stiles smirks.
Stiles bites back a smile, chewing on his lower lip. He can see the individual lashes on Derek’s face.
They’re a little too close.
“Flattery will get you everywhere,” Stiles winks and Derek scents the air, nostrils flaring wildly, hands twitching at his sides.
“Are you two ready?” Scott calls from just outside the door and Derek jumps back like he’s been electrocuted.

Stiles plus the bite make for an interesting combination, at least when you asked Deaton. If there are feelings in the mix (whether requited or not), it becomes an explosive cocktail of monsters, werebeings and a spark coming into his power.

‘No. We didn’t even kiss’, he whispered, avoiding eyecontact. Shane was staring at the floor, frowning, like he knew this was important somehow, but he forgot why.
Ilya froze, very aware of the nurse standing behind them.
Or: Shane isn’t allowed to leave the hospital alone after getting a concussion. Surely one of his teammates could pick him up, but a drugged Shane only wants to go with Ilya.

“You’re beautiful,” Ilya whispers into the sunlit room, trying to preserve the moment just a little longer.
The corners of Shane’s mouth quirk up, failing to hide his pleased smile, maybe he’s not even trying. Ilya lets his straining arm drop down, reaching for Shane’s face. He has to tilt his head awkwardly to avoid the sun from blinding him again.
He ghosts his fingertips across the freckles under Shane’s eye, back and forth, before slowly making his way onto the bridge of his nose. He slides his pointer finger down the slope and taps lightly against his nose, watching the way it scrunches up, freckles trying to go into hiding.
Everything about him is so beautiful it has something aching in Ilya’s chest.
He drops his finger further down into the dip of his cupid’s bow, gently pressing the pad into his lip. He traces the shape, top and bottom, and then dances his fingers along the seam. Shane’s lips part slightly around a soft exhale.
