Cheng Xiaoshi takes it from her, sparing it a quick glance before he hands it over to Lu Guang. It looks like a selfie, young girl, somewhere around fourteen, with a dark braid and smile on her face in the middle of the frame, peace sign formed with her fingers, something that seems like a whale in the background.
"That's the last photo she has ever sent to me. Do you think that you can find her? I obviously want to reconnect, but if you can makes sure that she's safe and sound, that would be enough!" she blurts out quickly, breathlessly. Then, her voice gets quieter, softer: "We never got to say goodbye."

Coco peered around Qifrey's shoulder as he drew on a ring of what was to become a new location for the windowway.
"Master Qifrey, where's this one to?" Tetia asked from behind them.
Qifrey finished, then turned to face the girls. "It should lead us directly to Kalhn, just for convenience of travel should we ever need to get there in a hurry."
She nodded enthusiastically, and then ran to go wake up Olruggio so he could make sure everything was ready to go for their little trip.
Marcille hummed softly to herself as she flipped through the many, many books in the castle library. Most of the magic ones were outdated or now illegal, but they were interesting nonetheless. She came across a paper tucked into one of the tomes, and pulled it out.
It seemed to be showing some markings on a large, three-tiered ring of sorts. Marcille set the dusty book down and squinted.
Maybe she might as well try it, since there was an incantation scrawled on the margins of the paper in messy handwriting.
"It could be something that Thistle came up with or found when he was lord..." the girl murmured, and started to search for a place to test this apparently forgotten spell.

Aizawa and Tsukauchi were close enough that words weren’t always necessary.

Tsukauchi inched his foot to the right.
