Summary
The cold is a therapy tactic. The sudden release of norepinephrine has his bones settling back into his body almost immediately, has him looking out across the city line with a bit of wonder. Everything is blanketed in it, and for a moment, Robby's at peace.
That doesn't last as long as he'd like, and with the weather comes his undeniable loneliness. He finds comfort in his oldest friend, and maybe more along the way.

“You did good, Alpha,” Robby whispers, then tenses, wishing he could suck back the air that contains the words and remove them from the wind that carries to Jack’s ears.
The man’s scent flares and his pupils blow wide. The reaction – even though Robby knows it’s just the pre-Rut – is enough to make Robby not try and take it back or offer him an out.
“Yeah?” Jack asks, vulnerable.
“Yeah,” Robby breathes, a flush rising on his face.or; when Robby gets injured and triggers Jack's pre-Rut, they're both forced to confront their feelings for one another.

This is just pure smut, based on a photo I saw of Dr Robby looking submissive and breedable
Robby neglected to school his features, exhaustion weighing heavy on him from another hellish shift. He didn’t even mean to look up at Jack, but something caught his attention, he couldn’t even remember what it was.
With his brain foggy and fuzzy, he looked up through his eyelashes, gaze catching on Abbot, who was leaning over the counter, forearms on display, biceps flexing, threatening to rip the fabric of his tight black shirt.
Michael looked like something out of a museum, with the way he looked up at Jack, eyes wide and glassy, mouth open just a fraction.
“See something you like, Robinavitch?” Jack chuckled, interrupting Robby’s staring, looking down at him. It wasn’t often Jack was looking down at him.
He just coughed, shaking his head. “Nope.” Michael promptly chose to ignore the way butterflies were fluttering in his stomach and chest.
