Summary
Midoriya Izuku, Shinsou Hitoshi, and Todoroki Shouto are three kids who want nothing more than to be heroes.
They also share a soulmate bond, and with it, each other’s pain. Fighting through abuse to become something more than what they are, the three of them learn to turn something that threatened to consume them into something beautiful, something they can use to save others.

(The three of them would keep talking that night, about quirks, or the lack thereof for one of them, and heroes, and how some of them are just monsters putting on a show for the public. The next day they would get up, and Hitoshi would feel the burn of Endeavor’s fire and Bakugou’s explosion and instead of shouldering through with a blank face and indifferent mask, he’d press gentle fingertips to the phantom wounds and push down until the faintest pressure slipped through the bond.Hitoshi and his soulmates still burned, but it didn’t seem so bad when they were burning together.)

Shouto had been expecting it to be Uraraka.
He’d prepared himself for it—the moment he became friends with Midoriya, aflame in a stadium all those years ago, he’d accepted that he was second best, and that he was never going to be anything more than that. It wasn’t like it was hard for him to accept, or like he blamed Midoriya—Uraraka was bright. She was friendly, and warm, and kind—she would help him unconditionally, she always smiled, and she was, all in all, a good match for him. These were all things that Shouto did not have, and he knew that. He’d come to terms with it.
He’d been prepared to always be second-best.
But this—this was not Uraraka.
Or, Shouto learns about the unpredictability of love through heartbreak, laughter, and a little bit of time.

Summary
History and the pass of generations can lead to the most unexpected events. The world hasn’t always been as divided as it is during times of war and sometimes drop of foreign blood can reach a child decades after it was shared. Sometimes the son of the Fire Lord happens to be the great-grandchild of the last Avatar, and the element he bends is not the one that belongs to his nation. Sometimes a child of the frozen tundra discovers a painful secret in the flames that are born from her fingers, and she feels like a monster because of it.
