She leaves her girls at the house. She wants to be able to stand on her own on this.
The path is covered in leaves. There are weird stains under the leaflitter. It crunches under her feet. She climbs up the hill, calling her name.
She finds her lying on her mother’s grave. There’s blood on her feet, on her legs, on her arms, on her hands.
There’s a rusty-red handprint on her mother’s headstone, the little vase knocked on its side. The flower, a purple hyacinth, looks withered, its petals stained red and broken.
There’s so much blood. Her heart lurches in her chest and a scream tears itself from her throat.
“CELINE!!!”

After making sure Cass was looking at him, Bruce pointed at Jay. “Boy,” then, he’d pointed at her. “Girl. Not Weapon, girl,” Cass had blinked a little. Bruce had pressed his hand against her chest, so big it covered nearly her entire front. “You’re not a weapon; you’re a girl. Okay?”
Cassie didn’t understand. She was a Weapon, made to hurt and kill. Well, she didn’t want to kill, so she was a bad Weapon, but she was one anyway. Bruce looked sad-sad-sad again. Jay also looked sad-confused-hurt. She didn’t understand.
Or: Cassie gets to the Wayne's early, and everyone wants to cuddle with her cause she's a hurt cutie-patootie.

I mean, I’ve had a crush on her for some time now –she’s so pretty and smart and scary–, but I wasn’t ready to ask her out yet and I wasn’t expecting her to… take it like that? I mean, it's a dagger! I knew she’d like it because she likes all things pointy and stabby and dangerous, but…”
“The official gift to start an Addams Courtship is an object that represents the suitor’s greatest weakness. You gave her a silver dagger, mon chiot, which is the ideal gift from a werewolf.”

Wednesday is twenty, when her life changes forever.
She meets a little girl in her family’s private woods, a little girl in a torn-up, pink gown, dirt-covered hair, and bloody legs. A little girl whose cries ring around them like bells, and whose tears look pearlescent on the perpetually snowy landscape. A little girl whose touch warms her chest and with a smile that threatens clear skies and sunshine and rainbows.
A little girl her age named Enid, who was able to travel from the Light Spring Court to the Dark Winter Court in the blink of an eye, wears an incredibly expensive gown and has light skin and golden hair. Wednesday may be young, but she’s not stupid.
Or: Light/Dark Fae and childhood BFFs. Although it’s more babyhood or toddlerhood because they’re four when they meet XD, but whatever.

“Uhh… hi?” she squeaks out, face burning and mouth gaping open.
“Hello.”
