Summary
Taylor Hebert never triggers in the locker. As she continues to struggle in school and with her peer and familial relationships, she decides that enlisting in the PRT is her best option to escape the perpetual spiral that is living in Brockton Bay. A few years later, upon her return to Brockton following a family emergency, she finds herself meeting some new faces, and reconnecting with some old ones... Ones that may or may not have ruined large portions of her adolescent years... and a large portion of herself--one that she doesn't even want to begin to think about--finds itself not minding.

He wasn't a Butcher.
That first immortal back in '87, he could have been, maybe if his life was just a little worse, maybe if he'd grown up with more of a bite, maybe if he had the Teeth for it.
But he wasn't a Butcher.
Instead he was a Guardian and that... that made all the difference.
Eleven heroes carried that name, the torch passed one after the other, sometimes it was an accident, sometimes it was intentional, in Taylor's case, it was out of obligation.
But becoming the Thirteenth Guardian wasn't what she expected and housed in a new mind, their wills made their own, the former heroes that made up that great symbol start to realize that maybe those little accidents weren't accidents at all.
(For those that don't care for vagueness: Hero!Butcher fic, now with significantly less mind control) (Think QCIC but the author has more respect for herself)

There were some days that Harriet really despised being Harriet Potter.
She really did have the worst luck.
Fresh from defeating Voldemort and finally uncovering the full extent of her inheritance, Harriet moves into Black Castle, the ancestral seat of House Black and what would have been a really convenient place to hide out in during the war had Dumbledore or literally anyone else thought to inform her of its existence. Well, she has it now and what child who lived in a cupboard under the stairs until they were eleven wouldn't move into a castle if given the chance.
