As Phil looks back, he sees Technoblade resurfacing again, but this time the mer isn't looking at him, but rather somewhere to his left. Techno reaches out and pulls something out of the water. Then Phil is face to face with a mer, but a small and grumpy one.
This must be what the merfolk calls a pup, a child of their species. Said pup is currently pouting at him, while being held under his arms by Techno.
"Phil, meet Theseus, my son," the older mer announces proudly, which leaves Phil's brain lagging to catch up with the information. The man thought that if his friend had a child, it would have somehow came up in their conversations. After all, when kids take up the majority of your time, it's hard not to mention them to others.
