The guy crossed the distance between them until he was once again arm’s length away. He had a ridiculously pretty smile. A little lopsided, and the imperfection was doing strange things to Megumi’s brain—altering it so all the synapses misfired. Maybe this was a stroke.
The guy planted the rifle down into the gravel and leaned on it. “I’m Yuuji.”
“Megumi,” he said after a beat.
“Megumi,” Yuuji repeated. “So, is this an irony thing?”
OR: Gojo blackmails Megumi into joining college marching band.

Summary
This is it, he thinks. Fifteen years of struggling through life just to drown in the harsh, freezing sea. His vision is just starting to blur when he catches sight of something. A glimpse of pink hair, a hint of something gray in the edge of his vision, a peek of white. He's starting to think he's already hallucinating from the lack of oxygen when, suddenly, strong arms wrap around him from behind.
He's spun around, suddenly staring into the face of one Yuuji Itadori. He must already be dead, then. He's dead, and this is heaven.
(Aka, Mer!Yuuji and Sailor!Megumi (who are also childhood friends) meet again after years apart, though not under the best of conditions. They make it work anyway, even if the whole thing is a little rocky, and despite the fact that even their past friendship— let alone whatever they have going on now— could cause a major political meltdown. Hope nobody finds out!)
