Summary
“How are you?” Stiles asked, falling onto the couch beside Derek and leaning heavily into him. “How was your day? How’s the book?” He kissed his cheek once. Twice. Then two more times in quick succession.
Derek turned to look at him, Stiles affecting his most innocent expression as he patiently waited for Derek to answer his questions.
Instead of doing so, Derek slowly closed his book, losing his page, and set it on the coffee table in front of them. Then he turned to look at Stiles, leaning back slightly against the arm rest, and crossed his arms.
“What do you want?”

Static flooded the screen briefly before stabilizing into grainy footage. Black Hat sat behind a desk unfamiliar to Flug, far plainer than the one he currently used. He looked…younger, in a way. Not physically, obviously, as Black Hat seemed immune to age itself, but still. Somehow, he managed to look younger anyway, less composed.
His expression looked irritated before the recording had even begun. “This recording system is embarrassingly primitive,” he muttered.
Or: the deeply concerning process of how the embodiment of evil accidentally developed an attachment to the strange little scientist digging through his archives.

Summary
Flug first heard the name Black Hat when he was nine years old, hiding beneath a cafeteria table.
The more he discovered, the more Flug started to like him. And years later, after countless interviews, corrupted recordings, and sleepless nights spent worshipping a figure he wasn't even sure was real, he decides to make a risky move just to be seen.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, Black Hat does see him.
