Luffy laughed and it was different. Bold. The tenor of a drum forced out between clenched teeth. The sound spun in the air, blunting hard against Zoro’s skin. Luffy’s laugh continued like he couldn’t stop, half-crazed eyes glowing with ancient embers, laughing laughing laughing.
And he still wasn’t done.

Zoro is drenched in sweat already, but at least with his haki holding Luffy’s at bay he isn’t suffocating. And Luffy, damn him, looks completely unruffled.
