Summary
It started, like a lot of things had, on the day Spot Conlon came to Manhattan to introduce himself, a week after he’d been accepted as a leader in Brooklyn.
He looked like he was trying to figure something out, and when he accepted Race’s handshake, Race could have sworn he saw something spark across Spot’s face, an almost invisible moment of…recognition, or maybe some kind of understanding.
That was where it started.
