It wasn’t the prospect of pain that frightened him. Zhenya was a hockey player: he was used to pain, even to violence. But this wasn’t like a fight on the ice—tempers boiling over, hot rage spilling out everywhere—cathartic, necessary, even if it got him sent down the tunnel. This was different. There was nothing here to push back against, no way to assert his own will. In a little while Crosby would come to him, and Zhenya would open the door and let him in. Crosby would feed from him, taking what he wanted from Zhenya’s body.
And then they would be bound.

"Father, Uncle Ned says that the King will be here soon." Jon Snow stood in the doorway, already washed and dressed for the royal arrival. Even the pup's fur was fluffed. The white fur showed dirt more than his siblings, so the Lady of Winterfell had reminded them to make sure it was clean. As a sigil of their house, the direwolf pups couldn't run around covered in mud like common dogs.
Jon Snow stood there, nearly identical to Benjen and a man grown, 17 on his next name day. The expression on his face was that of the disapproving parent rather than the son. It was like this more and more as Jon grew up, convinced of his own wisdom, and of his father's enduring foolishness.
"I'm getting up," he said, blowing out an irritated breath as he threw the furs off, gently shoving Ghost off of his pillows.

Summary
“Bruce doesn’t always mean it when he yells, Damian,” Timothy sighs. “He just isn’t good at expressing himself. He is worried about you too, you know. And he is glad we are both safe.”
Damian closes his eyes and refuses to cry in front of his rival. Timothy doesn’t comment on it. Instead he places a gentle hand on Damian’s head for a second before he gets up and quietly exists the room again to give Damian his privacy.

Damian is 13 when he meets his father for the first time - the same age as his rival (and brother) Timothy Drake. This changes everything and nothing.
