Summary
Enjolras pushed aside his papers and stood, gently guiding Combeferre in front of him to lean against the writing desk. His hands made their way to his waist, the touch soft, and Combeferre shivered despite himself. This seemed to please Enjolras, for he smiled slightly and leaned forward to press a kiss to Combeferre’s neck, just below his ear, his breath tickling against Combeferre’s skin.
“You needn’t demur. Are you not important to me as well?”
Combeferre swallowed and fought down a stream of pleading words. “I would not presume to compete with a task like this one.”
Enjolras pulled back and pressed another kiss, slow and careful, to Combeferre's lips. “You have taught me long ago that there need be no competition here.”
During the beginning of upheaval in 1832, Combeferre and Enjolras provide solace to each other.

Summary
Some of his friends had joked, when they were all alive, that he did not seem to live in the world, that he operated on some other plane altogether. He had seen their point, then, but had not otherwise given it much thought. He was of use to their ideals, and that was enough. But now, to actually exist amongst the world but not in it — what was he to do now?

“…I know you have never done this before in any sense,” Combeferre had said afterwards, so quietly his voice was merely a breath against Enjolras’ neck as they embraced. “But… I am willing to explore it, if you are as well.”
“Yes.” Enjolras remembered how light he had felt, how buoyed after so many days spent embroiled in violence and disappointment. “It will not be easy, but worthwhile endeavors rarely are.”
Enjolras and Combeferre explore new facets of their relationship and themselves.

Particularly this one — it’s only going to be the nine of us, for the most part, and we’ve already seen you at your very best and very worst, Courfeyrac,” Bahorel said idly. Despite his objections, he lounged quite comfortably in his seat in Staub’s, watching Courfeyrac examine himself from all angles in the mirror. He was wearing a pair of newly tailored trousers and an expression of deep concentration.
Bahorel shook his head gravely. “One might note that a lack of clothing is usually the end result of any party. A good one, anyway.”
Courfeyrac purchases a new pair of trousers. Bahorel reaps the benefits.

Poirot jumped, and his hand clasped on my thigh, halfway up, his fingers pressing the seam of my trousers into the soft, sensitive, inner part of my leg.
For some reason every time I recall this case, I pinpoint this as the moment it all started. In reality there are two much better starting points, but I simply can’t drag myself away from the feeling of Poirot’s hand anchored tight around my thigh as we sat close beside each other at the small table of the nightclub, waiting for the performer to begin her act again.
aka, Hastings-POV case, except then it becomes two cases, and Poirot seems to think there are three cases.
