Summary
SYNOPSIS:
Violet, the daughter of a communist university professor who was arrested and disappeared by the military, is sent by her conservative maternal family to a convent in the countryside of Rio de Janeiro, under the justification of “protecting her” from the same fate. The real intention is to silence her: Violet was active in leftist cultural circles and had a history of so-called “rebellion.”
At the convent, she meets Caitlyn, the Mother Superior. Rigid, elegant, restrained, and known for her unwavering devotion, Caitlyn hides a complex past, but has learned to suppress everything in the name of faith and survival within a patriarchal and repressive world.
