Summary
Laurent had come to Marlas a bright and innocent youth caught up in his brother's excitement, in the romance of battle and the righteousness of their cause. He left the battlefield alone, a stranger to himself, ready to be reshaped into a creature of someone else's design. Time and trauma cut him farther from himself, from the ability to do anything but play the losing game he found himself caught up in.
This is an attempt to examine the first novel from Laurent's POV.

Summary
This is a retelling of the Durham incident where Sherlock visits Professor Moriarty in his university but there’s a catch— The detective has profiled the Lord of Crime much quicker and he’s there to confront William about it. However, the situation gets a bit out of control and the two find themselves in each other’s embrace instead of being at each other’s throat...

"From this distance, Sherlock could see every strand of blond hair within long side bangs, the flutter of the professor’s eyelashes and his moist rosy lips. “Because I would expect no less from the person whose identity is the Lord of Crime. He has to be someone who has a strong heart…” His hand hoovered over William’s chest and touched the warm brown jacket with a neatly buttoned white shirt underneath. “A strong conviction and ideals to do whatever it takes…” His hand moved to the soft side bangs and played with the strands. “And nerves of steel that would rival even the sharpest detective.” His gaze lingered on his lips before meeting the crimson eyes once again. The blond looked indifferent, but his eyes told a completely different story. “Are we still on the topic of murders, Mr. Holmes?” He sneered."
