It’s hard to tell if he’s panting due to exertion from their fight or if it’s still a reaction to Chessmaster’s dirtier moves. He really should learn to wear a cup. “What position do I qualify for, anyway? And if you say fuckin’ pawn—”
Chessmaster turns to him, heart beating faster as he studies his face. He has the same crooked grin he always wore as Robin, and it makes Chessmaster yearn for something he gave up for lost years ago. “Please be my queen,” he blurts out. To hell with waiting.
“Wha…?” Red Hood looks very confused, but he doesn’t seem like he’s against the idea.
Excellent. Chessmaster can work with that.

Summary
The Justice League are having trouble with a ghost and Constantine really want to deal with it before the ghost's king comes to collect his wayward subject. Bruce thinks it sounds like a good solution for someone to come and collect the untouchable enemy until he suddenly, horrifyingly, doesn't.
Barry let out a yelp and Bruce instinctively flinched backwards as he could feel his skin tingling, hands spasming, muscles twitching, and hear stuttering in his chest as the electricity in the air surrounding them increased increased increased.
