Three weeks of beautiful certainty that whatever Ratio was experiencing when he thought of Aventurine was shared between them. Summary
One of Dr. Ratio's favorite students, Pela, suggests him her favorite book series so they can have intelligent and academic discussions over it. So Ratio reads it, gets mad about the ending, and emails the author his grievances.
Of course, he hadn't realized that it would lead to him gaining the titular protagonist of the novel to appear at his door.

Summary
Screwllum has always been fascinated by vibrant creatures.
Organic beings come in so many different colors; insects and animals especially. It is why he adores butterflies so much; they come in many, many different colors and their patterns vary all the time. They have small differences even when two of them have the same color and same pattern. They are delicate creatures but so full of life that they do not give up. He has an entire conservatory for them in his mansion on his planet, tended to by the best and most gentle of his servants in his absence. They live quick lives; the longest lifespan ever recorded for their species being 10 months.
Perhaps that is why he was immediately attracted to Aventurine.

Summary
It is only when he feels something touch his hand that he realizes that he is no longer alone. He immediately stops in his tracks, turning his head to look at the person who had either the bravery or audacity to try to touch him. There’s nothing. There’s a tug on his hand. Curiosity runs through his processors as looks down.
Oh.
A child is the one that is holding onto his hand, staring up at him with big brown eyes as they tug on his hand again. Whatever defense was rising within him at the touch dies out. Instead it is replaced by something wholly soft. He looks down at the young organic, studies the scopes of her face and the way that she is dressed to reach the conclusion that she’s most likely between the ages of 4-6 years old.
