“I saw this really pretty butterfly,” Taehyung says, his eyes nearly crossed as he tries to look at Yoongi’s hand on his nose. “I was following it and I didn’t even realize I wandered into the road.”
Yoongi steps back, bloodied gauze in hand. “You were following a butterfly?”
“Yes.” Taehyung sighs dreamily. “It was blue.”
If he’s being honest, this is not at all what Yoongi expected vampires to be like. He didn’t expect scary bloodsucking monsters either, nothing like that. But… well, he didn’t expect a guy who follows butterflies and seems to, maybe, be not entirely all there.

Paramedic Yoongi meets vampire Taehyung when he gets hit by a car while following a butterfly. After being stuck in his coffin for [mumbles] years, Taehyung is a little eccentric and behind the times. Yoongi isn’t entirely sure why he offered Taehyung, who can only name three songs off the top of his head, music appreciation lessons. But inviting a vampire into his home and his life is probably no big deal. Right?

Summary
Yoongi thinks about him a lot. About his bright smile and warm, squeaky laugh that makes his eyes squeeze closed. Sometimes, Yoongi likes to pretend that the convenience store hyung is his boyfriend. That he could be his boyfriend.
It feels so real that he can almost imagine it could be true. That he can almost feel the warmth of another hand in his, fingers slotted between his own. The ghost of a laugh or another voice ringing through the quiet of his apartment.
Beautiful dreams, perfect fantasies. But none of it is real. None of it could ever happen.
Not because Yoongi is too shy to make a move or ask the guy out. Yoongi could do it. Or, more accurately, he could do it eventually. Work up the courage to ask the cashier out for real.
Or he would. But he can’t.
Because the man isn’t real.

Yoongi, lonely and a little lost, falls in love with the hologram cashier at the convenience store. He knows it’s not normal, knows it’s a poor coping mechanism, but he never expects to meet the real Seokjin.

“Are you -”
“No.” Yoongi shakes his head. “I -” He cuts off, eyes trained on where blood trails from his finger. The same finger that Taehyung just cut open.
Taehyung knows what this means, even if Yoongi says no. He knows how it works. Everyone knows how it works.“You’re my soulmate.”
Yoongi’s gaze slowly moves to where Taehyung is still kneeling on the floor. He stares down at him, expression completely blank. There is no happiness, no smile of recognition and relief. None of the things that Taehyung expected to see when he found his soulmate. Just a cold stare.

Taehyung has waited anxiously for the day he would finally meet his soulmate. Each bump and bruise that appeared on his skin over the years was just a reminder that his other half was out there. So everything should be great when Taehyung meets his soulmate at his new job. But Yoongi makes it clear he’s not interested in Taehyung, or having a soulmate at all.

Summary
There’s an art to building a joke, a clinical method only practice and years of training can turn into mastery.
First comes the setup. You set the mood for the audience, lure them into thinking this is a perfectly normal character, a perfectly mundane situation. That way, they can picture a clear image in their head, relate to the scene.
Then, you have the punchline.
The setup of this story is this: Man writes a routine out of anger against an injustice and goes viral.
The punchline? Yoongi hasn’t figured that part out yet.(Or Comedian Min Yoongi goes viral after an acerbic routine on nation’s son-in-law Kim Seokjin’s public outing.)
