Summary
Only a mage driven to insanity burns their own tissues for seidr.
Loki had far too much experience to know that madness is just one desperate act away.

However – weak from months in Asgard's dungeon after his near-death on Svartalfheim and Thanos' ministrations – Loki is stolen from Asgard's dungeons by Thor. As the only known wielder of two Infinity Stones, the Avengers hope to use Loki to uncover the reason behind their appearance on Earth. Especially in light of the Mind Stone taken form as their newest ally: the Vision.
But they are not the only ones who have use of a bound child mage.

Summary
The battle between Earth and Asgard had been going on for years, now.
With Thor by their side, the Avengers had held their ground against Odin's relentless efforts to take over their realm; batallions of Einherji had failed to make a dent in their defenses, and Tony was liking their odds of showing the would-be conqueror just how tenacious mortals could be.
At least, he liked them, until the new guy showed up.
Loki, Thor called him, but that was most of what he could tell them, was powerful, sly, and clearly determined to mess with them. He was a chaotic, mischievious little bastard, and for the love of science, Tony couldn't understand why Odin's supposedly most loyal servant wasn't making use of his skills to turn the tide his master's way...
