Summary
No more words were exchanged as Buck gathered his keys and shoes and walked out the door. Eddie watched him like a person watched a car crash in slow motion. Inevitable, destructive, no way to stop it.
“Still best friends?” Buck’s voice asked hesitantly, sticking his pinky out with a trembling hand.
Eddie led out a laugh that sounded more like a sob. “Still best friends. I’ve got your back, Buck.”
Or, Buck and Eddie break up. Then get back together.

Summary
Eddie was hoping to avoid this conversation, and he can’t even really begin to fathom how or when he would bring it up. Hey, nice save back there, he imagines, the resounding clap of his hand landing on Buck’s shoulder, echoing off the tall ceiling of the station. By the way, I can hear you touching yourself at night. I can hear you making yourself come a foot away from me.

Summary
“There are too many yogurts.”
Eddie blinks slowly at his phone.
“…What?”
“There are probiotic yogurts and Greek yogurts and low-fat yogurts and yogurts specifically for children and I don’t know which one means I’m a good father.”
Eddie presses the heel of his hand against his forehead.
“Where are you?”
“Aisle seven.”
“Stay there.”or
Buck is new to this whole fatherhood thing, Eddie isn't, and somewhere along the way, they realise what's been there all along.

Summary
“What if they never get over it? You said your sister came out and they didn’t talk to her for three years, and the only reason they went back to it was because she was in a car accident!”
Eddie shrugs. “Okay so we give it a year and I reverse into a hydrant.”
This finally makes Buck stop and turn to him. Good, progress. “This isn’t a joke, Eddie,” he says seriously.
Or: After a horrifying dinner with Eddie's parents, Buck loses the fight to the guilt of not being enough for Eddie. Temporarily.
