He'd never expected Kuroo to stay with him like this. He wanted to give him a way out, a chance to leave before it got any worse.
But Kuroo didn’t take it. Instead he pulled Kei into his arms and softly caressed his hair. “No,” he whispered. “I’ll be with you until the end. Let me take care of you.”

Akaashi hadn’t seen Bokuto in over four years, not since the latter had left to go pro in Italy. He’d been so sure that he was over him and the relationship they'd had in highschool.
But now Bokuto was standing in front of him once more, still as dazzling as back in the day when he'd taken the ace’s picture for their school’s magazine. And against his better judgement Akaashi felt himself falling for him all over again. -

“There’s been those rumours again,” Kawanishi said, sipping on his coffee. The demon had a terrible case of bed hair and the expression in his eyes hinted at the headache that probably pained him. Shirabu had advised him numerous times to forgo the salt when drinking Tequila shots, but apparently that wasn’t authentic enough. That’s what he got for not listening.
“I’ve heard them too!” Goshiki nodded excitedly.
A confused frown spread on Shirabu’s face, as he stirred in his tea. “What rumours?”
“It’s said that there’s been gods around recently,” Kawanishi explained casually. “Or maybe they were never really gone.”
Something uncomfortable churned at Shirabu’s unconscious but he tried to laugh it off.
“That’s impossible, they’ve been long-forgotten,” he said and maybe he was trying to convince himself more than he was trying to convince the other two. “Sometimes rumours are just that: rumours.”

Tsukishima doesn’t even greet him as he slides into the chair opposite him. He drops his strawberry shortcake unceremoniously on the table and gives Akaashi a long look before sighing dramatically. “I cannot believe this,” he states, and Akaashi scowls as Tsukishima barrels on ahead with whatever it was that he wanted to say. “Why did you and Bokuto break up?”
Akaashi stares. He looks around the room. Yes, he’s seated in a random conbini at two in morning, an umeboshi onigiri in front of him. His gaze flickers back to his dining companion, and yes, that is Tsukishima Kei, all 190 centimeters of him sitting in the seat opposite him.
