“Who the hell are you?” Jack looked him up and down, utterly bewildered.
The stranger startled, finally righting himself so he could turn to Jack. “Jack—” he coughed, before continuing, “Jack Frost?”
Jack’s eyebrows raised.
“...Do I know you?” he asked slowly, trying to find something familiar about his figure, his mask, or even his weird nasally voice, but nothing rang any bells. “I don’t think we’ve met.”
“Oh, no no, I uh…” Facing away from Jack, the spirit then turned towards the horizon and started to drift away. “I keep to myself.”
“So you know who I am but I still don’t know who you are.” He squinted even more curiously at the stranger, a grin growing at this new mystery. It wasn’t often that he met a brand new spirit, after all.

Frost-G6, AKA the Winter Soldier, had been part of the Tsar’s secret Guardian Program for as long as he could remember, which was an unknown number of years really.
When he and his comrade are captured, Frost-G6 was expecting a very very long and pointless death.
Imagine his confusion when his captors call him ‘Jack’, a name he doesn’t know, with an undeserved familiarity.
But one name stands out of the fog for Frost-G6.
Hiccup.

Summary
As he drank in the sight, Hiccup made a note on his head that this creature didn't really have a good survival instinct. Powerful, undoubtedly—by the way he created snowballs out of thin air, Gods know what he's more capable of—but also combined with the same worrisome hijinks as Ruff and Tuff. Probably someone that wasn't on Hiccup's mind if he was to pick a friend. But of course, his night fury already found him as a new chew toy.
