Summary
Grace had an aversion to swearing that Rocky couldn’t understand - which was frustrating since obviously Rocky had wanted to learn every Eridian curse word under the sun after they’d learned to communicate. It was an overall stupid and inconsequential thing, but he was just itching to hear him let loose a squeaky, frustrated fuck.
Rocky added that to his ever growing mental list of things he wanted to do with him: get Gracie off so good he finally said fuck.
Rocky was confident in his abilities to make it happen.
He’d be the best damn lay Grace ever had, actually. Alien species, be damned. Rocky was nothing if not adaptable and teachable; he aimed to please. He’d do whatever necessary to aid his best friend in succumbing to absolute bliss. It was a little ridiculous how fast that had become his new life’s mission.

So it’s the best, but it’s also the worst. There’s a lot of worst. Maybe the worst worst is the combination of anxiety and guilt churning in James’s stomach over and over, thinking that yeah, maybe a dick-dumb Ryan Gosling invited him into his bed, but it’s James who’s catching all the feelings here.

Ryan and James spend an evening discovering that the best conversations are the ones that stop being conversations entirely. It could have been a dance of saying everything while committing to nothing, but they are both too good at the game for that to last, and the alphabet has considerably more to offer than Ryan ever gave it credit for. Somewhere between 'A' and 'H' he gets to stop managing himself quite so carefully, which is either a terrible idea or the best one he's had in years.

"Every other week, Rocky made sure to spend some extra time after class slowly organizing papers he graded, just so they could have a few more minutes to talk more privately. Grace would sit on the edge of the sturdy wooden desk and watch him work, as if he wasn't late for his stupidly boring Biology Basics class that took place right after Rocky's.
They chatted about everything, really. The weather, Rocky's partner and their twenty year long loving relationship, the nearby cafeteria's horrible coffee, Rocky's views on monogamy, the slow morning traffic, Adrian's wish for a third, and- Alright, Ryland Grace was admittedly a little slow on social cues, but this was starting to get ridiculous. Still, Rocky was stubborn, and Adrian had the patience of someone who had played these games before."OR:
After a whole semester trying to court an oblivious Ryland Grace, Adrian and Rocky figure the only way to make Grace aware of their intentions is by fucking him stupid.
