Summary
After the hell that was Ultron and the Sokovia Accords, Tony doesn't blame the team for wanting nothing to do with him. To make up for past mistakes, Tony disappears into his lab and focuses on using his money and brains to provide the Avengers with more fancy tech than they'll ever need. By doing this, he also doesn't have to worry about Steve's grim frown, Bucky's hateful gaze, or everyone else's cold annoyance.
For six long months, this formula worked, but then fate decided to be a Loki-like dick and Tony wasn't sure how it happened, but in the span of one week, he'd somehow acquired a kid.

Summary
“I don’t like this,” Steve mutters to him, as he shifts awkwardly on his feet in the lounge of Tony Stark’s absurdly large Malibu mansion.
Bucky sighs and resists the urge to roll his eyes. This isn’t the first time (and it certainly won’t be the last) that Steve has expressed that very sentiment, and while Bucky also recognises the futility and drawbacks to this particular job, it’s a job, it’s their job and it puts money in their bank account, which is something that Bucky won’t turn his back on.
“I just don’t understand why someone like Tony Stark needs a bodyguard,” Steve complains, quietly. “Some spoilt little rich boy, so full of himself that he thinks the whole world is out to get him?”
“Shut up, or you’re going to get us fired,” Bucky hisses.
Steve shakes his head. “All I’m saying is that I don’t want to have to spend the foreseeable future looking after some dolled-up, greedy prep school reject.”
Or, alternatively, five times that Tony Stark surprised Steve and Bucky, and one time they didn’t really care.

Summary
A not-so abandoned Hydra base explodes, they fight their way through an ambush, and now Tony is following Bucky through the frozen woods to a safehouse. Following the Winter Soldier, to be more precise, because Bucky went AWOL and his alter ego took charge as soon a Hydra goon pointed a gun at Tony.
The Soldier, he calls himself, with his brutal efficiency and that patented stoic demeanor, and maybe Tony should be afraid for his life, but he's not. No, mostly, he's just trying to ignore his busted ankle, the freezing cold seeping into him, and the fact that he's secretly head-over-heels in love with both sides of Bucky Barnes.
Getting to the safehouse before the blizzard hits will keep them alive, but Tony doesn't think it'll help with the rest of this mess.

Summary
It was mostly embarrassing, really, to be snatched off the streets by Hydra’s unwanted leftovers and tossed into a dark, cold cell without so much as a by-your-leave. Tony thought the worst of it would be the mind-numbing boredom while he waited for days for his chance to escape, or the stale, gray mush these goons dared call “food”…
…or the guards tossing an unconscious, beaten body right into Tony’s own cell two days later and Tony realizing it belonged to the very same Winter Soldier Tony hadn't seen since their fight in Siberia.

Summary
After a long day of pretending, that he was still one of the Rogues, that he didn’t mind when Steve stood too close and touched him too liberally, James’ nerves are frayed and he desperately needs to see Tony again, but the last thing he wants to be is a burden. Tony is already so busy and adding their secret relationship and James’ neediness right on top is already too much.
His resolve breaks however and he shows up in the lab, worried he'll be turned away, but as always, Tony is ready to catch him. As always, Tony's steady love and his gentle touch sets James’ world to rights once again.
