Summary
“Don’t be angry,” Will says, voice so hushed he’s barely audible over the roaring in Mike’s ears, a drop of blood trickling down onto his upper lip. “But—the powers, Mike. I still have them. And they’re getting worse.”
Mike hasn't spoken to Will in over a year when, on a rainy November night, Will shows up at his door asking for help with a secret he's kept for years. Mike doesn't know why Will pulled away and stopped returning his calls, doesn't know how they drifted so far apart, but he's never stopped missing him. When Will reveals his long-hidden powers and his struggle to cope, Mike agrees to help master them so Will can get back to his life. But Mike has secrets of his own to keep, like the dreams that have never stopped plaguing him, the truth of his relationship with El, and the long-buried feelings he's never spoken aloud to anyone. Back together in Chicago, they'll either learn how to heal, or burn everything down trying.

“Hey, Mike?” Will asked. “Why now?”
Mike was silent for a long time, so long Will thought he wasn’t going to answer at all. “I just… I don’t know. How can I move on if I don’t know for sure? I can’t stop thinking that if she is out there, if I was right, and I don’t even try to find her, then maybe I really didn’t deserve her.”
A year after graduation, Mike decides to start a search for El and asks Will to come with him. Their friendship hasn't been the same since Will came out and Eleven disappeared, so Will agrees, kicking off a complicated journey that brings them back together. Will is in college, trying to move on, and Mike is idling in Hawkins, torn between his past with El and his confusing feelings for Will. As the search brings them closer than either ever imagined, Will and Mike grapple with first loves, moving on, and growing up together.

“So,” Will prompts, when Mike still doesn’t offer up any information on the mysterious stack of papers tucked under his arm. “Are you having a party?”
“Oh, no,” Mike says, sounding like it might be the first time ever in his life that he is genuinely disappointed about this fact. He shifts and grabs the stack of flyers, sort of waving them through the air. “These are just for this game I play?” The inflection on the end of what should be a statement makes it sound more like a hesitant question.
“And in this one, you act like you’re… vampires?”
Or: To get out of the sexual rut he’s stuck in, Popular!Will gets dared to ask out Nerd!Mike and ends up attending a Vampire the Masquerade LARP where they proceed to put the ‘role-play’ into ‘live action role-play.’

Summary
He took a step forward, his eyes scanning the shop for the source of the heavenly scent. His tail caught the edge of a tall wooden stand displaying dozens of small potted lavender plants.
Crash!
The stand wobbled precariously for a moment before tipping over completely. Terracotta pots shattered on the polished wooden floor, spilling dark soil and lavender sprigs everywhere. The sound was deafening in the quiet shop.
"Shit!" Mike yelped, his ears flattening against his head with pure mortification. He dropped to his knees immediately, trying to gather the broken pieces, his tail still going a mile a minute, now knocking over a nearby watering can. "I'm so sorry! I'll clean that up."
"That's... quite alright." The voice was soft, a little hesitant, but it sent a shiver down his spine.
Mike looked up.
And the world stopped.

Summary
The summer before college, Mike and Will move into a tiny studio together, ready to start their next chapter — only to discover their across-the-street neighbor has a very public, very active sex life. Their weekly “observations for research purposes” are all jokes and commentary…until one night the neighbor brings home a man, and something in Mike shifts. Suddenly the bit isn’t so funny, the spiral is very real, the lines start to get a little too blurry, and the curiosity feels a bit too personal. Unfortunately for Mike, the only thing more distracting than the view outside is his childhood best friend living three feet away.
