Little baby Harrow always found that part fascinating – the idea that someone would lock themselves away and make themselves useless and do nothing but exist, and that despite that uselessness, that madness, the villagers would still come together two times a day and send baskets full of olives and bread up via some kind of elaborate pulley-system they had constructed.
