Flayon has always known that he was never built to be like other people. Most of the time that was a privilege and an honour since it meant that his creator cared enough about him (about science, not him, but aren't they the same thing?) to hammer in some long-lasting code. He existed for a good reason. He lived as good of a life as he could.
But occasionally– recently, with all these weird feelings that Hakka’s presence seemed to unlock inside him, as he watches the world he’s always known (known, not seen ) with glassy eyes he feels a little empty, too creaky and old yet too young and naive all at once. There are so many things he has never, and will never, get to do. It is simply his fate.

Eva and Eito could truly make the most fucked up found family! It genuinely is a shame that Eito is usually too honed in on Takumi to interact with Eva or anyone else in a meaningful way cuz like the Eva and Eito accomplice route literally writes itself.
Also love how this every fic that takes place after a SF ending never goes well for hiruko or takumi in the end.
