Summary
Giles and Faith return from Rome, a new tension between them. Before they have a chance to really work it out, they are settled with a new Slayer, Teenie, who proves to be more of a challenge than either of them were expecting. All the while, there is dark activity on the horizon: Anti-Slayer sentiment is growing, and vampires are getting more ballsy. Faith and Giles are reminded that the world is a dark, unforgiving place, and that they may have nothing if they don’t have one another.

Graham Miller's orders were simple: track her patrols, log her patterns, report back to a woman running an agenda Buffy never knew existed. He was good at his job. He was not supposed to notice her coffee order, or the joke she told a vampire before she dusted it, or the exact weight of the silence when she finally caught him watching.
This is a slow burn about what's left of two people after everything the Hellmouth takes from them — and what they build back, together, in the years nobody else is looking.
No one gets rescued here. They just keep choosing each other, even when it costs them.

She had carved from herself a shape that behaved like contentment, but she hadn’t known the horizon could stretch beyond perception, soft and fuzzy like a promise.
