Summary
“Nothin’ has to be different. Nothin’ has to change.”
It’s Laudna’s turn to have the corner of her mouth curl and quirk. “But hasn’t it already?” she asks, fingers reaching out and tangling with Imogen’s.
“Is that a bad thing?” Imogen’s voice pitches low, and Laudna feels something pulling, settling, low within her in turn.
Laudna shakes her head, mouth dry and voice gone. Imogen speaks for her.
“Kiss me,” she says. Asks. Pleads.
It’s too much, and Laudna has never been good at denying anything that Imogen wants.
Imogen tastes like oranges.
or: imogen helps laudna clean up before she buys some fancy clothes.

Some months ago, before this all started, Laudna might have hesitated.
She might have drawn her hands away. Smoothed them down the pretty arch of Imogen’s back, traced a careful finger down the slope of her spine, felt the notches and asked once again, if Imogen was sure.

“This is quickly getting away from both of us, I think,” Laudna says quietly, moving her hand to cup Imogen’s cheek and tuck some hair behind her ear. “We agreed in the beginning to go slow, so I just want to ask if you’re ready to go… further than this.”
“I want this,” Imogen replies. She presses their foreheads together, and they’re breathing together, chests flush, and she leans in just close enough that their lips are brushing with barely there pressure. “Want you,” she murmurs. “I’m ready, baby.”
