Astarion snorts. “You make it sound so easy.”
Halsin takes a sip of ale and briefly covers the hand Astarion has resting on the table with his own. “It is not easy. But it is necessary.”

Summary
Astarion, somehow, stumbles into being the leader of the Tadfools. And among them is the Blade of Frontiers, a fey man who refuses to give out his name and has strong feelings about name safety in general. Astarion finds himself unusually attracted to this man, and he also finds snippets of Blade's story disturbingly relatable.
But there's something he's forgetting. Something he can't recall; he's sure of it. If only he could remember.

Summary
It used to be his body that he gave away to be used, but he hasn’t done that since this whole ordeal began. He never went to bed with Tav as he’d planned, and he isn’t sure what the name is for what he feels when he thinks of doing it now – making himself a commodity he can trade for safety, security. Not quite disgust, but a repulsion that’s probably always been there, he just never had the luxury of acknowledging it before.
Even as repellent as he finds the idea now, selling himself is still easy. It’s practiced, routine. A role he slips into, a mask he pulls on far too easily.
Deciding when it’s safe to give up these softer, littler pieces of himself is a far more daunting task.
And maybe that’s why it needs to be done.
