    Backstage is a blessing Romance has come to see as its own sanctuary. It's a perfect balance between the real word and the life on stage, a not exactly-healthy but definitely distinct space to switch masks on and off.

    As quickly as he can currently handle, Jinu reassesses his situation with the new information in mind. He discovers three things he didn’t fully realize before.

    One, something is definitely broken. Probably a rib, or three, or five. His ribcage feels like it’s screaming at him for so much as trying to breathe.

    Two, that hit might’ve killed him if he weren’t a demon, or at least done a lot more damage. But Jinu is pretty sure he’s not actively dying so, at least he’s got that going for him.

    And three, his disguise is still up. Jinu is particularly happy about that one. Getting hit by a car isn’t fun regardless but at least he doesn’t have to deal with headlines like, ‘Jinu of the Saja Boys: Hospitalized after taking a bad hit from a speeding car! Saja Boys fans are out for blood!’

    (Or Jinu gets hit by a car. He tries to sleep it off. Huntrix keeps making a big deal out of it though.)

    Her first sign things had gone wrong was the sudden silence when Condor had just been speaking to his extraction target. He cut himself off mid-sentence and she faintly heard the sound of stomping footsteps. 

    Then he'd cursed low and worried and perhaps if she hadn't misheard it scared. Then a door slammed open from somewhere and another sting of curses. 

    “Not again!” Condor had snarled before she could hear running and the sound of a very displeased target. 

    “ROOST WE HAVE A FUCKING PROBLEM!” 

    “Talk to me.” She implored immediately.

    The only thing today and that night 22 years ago have in common is a girl. Every other factor, today, is in his favour. Not yours. Going after him right now is just a pretty elaborate suicide mission.” -

    The aftermath of depriving Elpis, the bringer of anarchy, from the ones who'd weaponize the antiviral. While the forces of greed, evil and power scheme in the shadows, our heroes have to figure out how to return to a life that for a child hasn't even begun, for a young woman that never had one of her own, and for a man who had to come to terms with dying in the city that has already tried to end him 28 years ago. Can they heal on their own, or is the possibility of a life together with friends and family not so much better?
    If you ask Leon, that question is not as easily answered as it might seem.
