His head was so confused, how could Kristin treat their child so cruelly… But Philza didn't know how humans raised their children, he could just figure it out from what his instincts told him to do. After all, what could a creature like him know?
Now that everything was falling into chaos, he had found the distraction he needed to escape undisturbed with his baby. Or so he had hoped... It had taken so little to find out. He had to push across the borders into the enemy country, hoping they would stop following him. But now it was so cold and he had nothing to cover his son with.

""Something to hopefully ease the pain.." Qifrey whispers as he runs one hand along Olruggio's cheek and sweeps the hair from his friend's forehead with the other. "Are you with the living?" He teases.
Olruggio's body seems very much to protest the action, but with great effort he forces his eyes open, meeting Qifrey's own.
All his body's prior hesitance is gone in an instant as Olruggio's eyes open wide as saucers. His face breaks out into a faint scarlet, warm to the touch and reaching the tips of his ears.
"Whooa!" Olruggio slurs, reaching upwards to hold Qifrey's face with both hands. "You're beautifulll!"
Oh dear."

The truth is spilled, and a night of indulgence is sure to have its consequences. Truly, some would think the story writes itself over and over and over again.
Though it is only human to hope for a different ending.
“Have we done this before?” Olruggio’s question is muffled from where he’s made himself comfortable. He absently traces patterns onto Qifrey’s skin, unable to stay still.
“Which part?” Qifrey stretches his arms out in front of him, fighting against the branches making his joints stiff. He pointedly ignores the ivy that crawls up his wrists.
