“Are you okay?” Leon reached out to help the stranger, one hand gripping their palm to hoist them up from the floor, the other steadying them with a gentle squeeze to the upper arm.
“Hm, I appreciate the sentiment, but is now really the time for pleasantries?” the stranger asked, not unkindly. His voice was a little rough around the edges, with an accent Leon failed to identify. Something rich and European, like the love interest in every shitty soap opera. His skin was warm where their palms met, and Leon let go of him hastily.
He shook his head. Why had he noticed something like that?
Or: A story loosely based on Resident Evil 2 Remake, if Leon happened to encounter a certain Spanish scientist instead of Claire Redfield.
