Years after Azar is dead and Nova has begun to learn how to live again, a newcomer in Aviary catches Nova's attention. There's an immediate attraction on both sides, but is Nova willing to let someone else in after all they've been through?
"Goodness, you alright?"
Nova exhaled, not recognizing that voice at all, and they nodded, letting this stranger help steady them.
"Sorry, I-" Nova wasn't really sure what to say. Blind as they were, they had plenty of excuses, but it felt rude to use their disability for an excuse.
"No, no, I ran into you," the stranger replied, not quite letting go of Nova yet.
A part of Nova noted how strong this stranger was, to hold them up so easily, and Nova immediately stomped on that thought, refusing to let their thoughts focus on something so...enticing. -

~A mere four years after reconciling with Inuyasha and becoming true brothers, Sesshomaru has fallen victim to a fatal disease that runs in his mother's side of the family.~
"I'm dying, Inuyasha."
Silence. Inuyasha gaped at him, horror in his eyes, his ears pressed flat down on his head as he stared. Sesshomaru didn't turn away or lower his eyes, waiting for whatever reaction Inuyasha would have. He knew Inuyasha would know he wasn't lying, he never did.
"What do you mean by that? Are you injured? Sick?" Inuyasha demanded, finally having gained control again over his shock.
"It's a disease that's been passed down through my mother's family. I won't live to see the turn of the season," Sesshomara answered, trying to keep his voice level and calm.
"WHAT!?"
Sesshomaru flinched, hands rising to cover his ears as Inuyasha's voice rang in his head. Was the idiot ever going to learn that demons had sensitive hearing?
"Sorry, sorry," Inuyasha said, lowering his voice. He grinned sheepishly as Sesshomaru glared. -
