Summary
From the Scots word for ‘seal’, a selkie was a seal who could take on human form. A common element in all the selkie-folk tales, and perhaps the most important, is that in order to shapeshift, they had to cast off their sealskins. Within these magical skins lay the power to return to seal form, and therefore the sea. If this sealskin was lost, or stolen, the creature was doomed to remain in human form until it could be recovered. The most common theme in selkie folklore is one in which a cunning young man acquires, either by trickery or theft, a selkie’s sealskin. This prevents her from returning to the sea, leaving the selkie with no choice but to marry her captor.

“He’s my boyfriend, actually” Charlie says, and the entire table drops silent at the same second. Quickly the silence turns to giggles as if the boy just made the funniest joke, and the loud laughs make Charlie feel like the odd one out, like old times.
And there we go again, Charlie thinks, a disturbing feeling inside his chest.
“Yeah, right” Valerie says in a laugh, patting his shoulder, giving him his phone back.
Beth scoffs, rolling her eyes from the other side of the table.
“You wish, Spring” she says, raising her glass as if making a toast. “Hell, I wish too. The man is a proper fit!” that makes the table erupt to laughter once again, and Charlie does not understand what could possibly be that funny.or
Charlie's new friends are not convinced he is actually dating rugby king Nick Nelson. But some of Nick's mates are also not convinced his so-called 'boyfriend' really exists.
This is a story about jealousy, love and new friendships. Basically a bunch of Nick and Charlie fluff because sometimes that's all we need. -

“I’m sorry I wasn’t—” he glanced up and looked at the wow—breathtakingly gorgeous man right in front of him, “…looking.”
He had strawberry blonde, almost ginger hair that was parted on the side and a stubble that looks so perfect on him. He was taller than Charlie, tall enough to give him forehead kisses.
Charlie tried to brush away the thought or else he’ll combust.
“It’s okay, I didn’t see you either.” the man gave Charlie a warm smile and cocked his head, “I’m sorry if this is a bit forward, but are you new here? I haven’t seen you around before.”
“Yea, I just moved in.”
“Dada, we got presents again!” a little voice called.
They both looked to the girl tugging the hem of the man’s jacket. Dada? The taller man crouched to talk to the little girl.
Charlie laughed at himself silently. Of course, the hot and apparently straight guy has a daughter. Just brilliant!

Charlie moves back to Newcastle after living in London for a long time. He bumps into a cute guy when he was running out his building to go to the shops. Later, he finds out that the guy is the friend of his friend’s friend.
