Summary
The Twin Jades were destined to marry for the sake of ending wars and forging alliances between the various sects. This arrangement was designed to ensure peace and prevent further conflict and loss of life. Traditionally, the Elders selected the spouses for the Jades early on, then placed each Jade in seclusion with their chosen mate for a month, during which all contact with the outside world was forbidden.
One concern plaguing Lan Xichen was that his brother’s beloved had been chosen as his own Omega. Never having met this Omega, Lan Xichen resolved not to become intimate with him.
However, upon meeting the Omega, Lan Xichen realized the person was nothing like Lan Wangji’s description of Wei Wuxian. The Omega was small, with wide golden eyes that disarmed his reservations completely.
Meanwhile, Meng Yao found himself married to the Spare of the Lan Clan. To his surprise, the usually cold and reserved Twin Jade was unexpectedly gentle and frequently smiled.
Lan Qiren, accustomed to cleaning up after his brother’s mistakes, faced even higher stakes this time. Yet, knowing the pattern of his life, he expected that he would pay the price, as he always seemed to bear the consequences in the end.

Summary
Time is like a mobius strip, infinite and finite at the same time, never ending but with a predetermined path.
Liu Qingge would like to take a pair of scissors to the mobius strip that is a time line.
ie. This a fic that explores the age old question: what if Shen Qingqiu had had a better life?
Now how this "better life" is achieved is up to the author, and the author likes to be mean, so read at your own risk.
This fic is otherwise known as my latest attempt to make Original!Shen Qingqiu Major Sad. Also to make everyone else Major Sad, but mostly him.
Would you guys still believe me if I said that he's still my favorite character?
I hope you take the plunge and read this mess of a fic. I hope you like it!!!! Despite the warnings there's a lot of fluff, by my standards at least.

Still as beautiful as a Caravaggio, haloed in dark, riotous curls. The perfect curvature of his face, his smile, those big doe brown eyes rimmed in thick lashes, so deceptively wide and sweet. A masterpiece in motion.
“Qingge! Good to see you mate!” he says warmly, his tone couched in sweet, unearned familiarity deceptive enough to make Liu Qingge believe, for one brief second, that the man before him would be kind. Opposite of what he’d been told of him. Gentle even. Liu Qingge was a wishful fool.

When Shen Qingqiu’s thin eyebrows begin to furrow with displeasure, he suppresses a sigh and does what is probably a horribly unattractive shuffle until the furrow evens out, and he’s left sitting at more of an angle with the other man, his knee almost brushing Shen Qingqiu’s expensive-looking robes.
Somehow, Shang Qinghua has found himself in a—situation-ship? friend-ship? some other -ship word he isn't aware of? with the Scum Villain of all people.
