Rumi’s jaw trembled. “You think I don’t notice?” she pressed, voice thick with hurt she couldn’t hide anymore. “The way you look at me like I’m… annoying. Like I’m nothing. Like I’ll never be good enough for you.”
“That’s not—” Mira’s voice faltered, snapping off before it could betray her. She clenched her teeth hard enough her jaw ached.
Rumi didn’t stop. She couldn’t—she was unraveling, and she dragged Mira down with her.
“Then what is it?!” Rumi’s nails curled into Mira’s arm, desperate, pleading, furious. “Why do you treat me like I’m the problem? Like I’m the only one you can’t stand to be around? Everyone else gets the part of you that laughs, that smiles, that actually lets people in—but me?” Her breath shuddered. “All I get is this.”
Her voice cracked on this, and it hit harder than any hit they’d thrown.
Mira squeezed her eyes shut, chest trembling. Stop. Please stop. I can’t do this.
But Rumi pushed—because she needed an answer, because she was breaking.
“You hate me so much? Then fine—say it!” she choked. “Say it to my face so I can finally stop wondering why the hell I keep trying with you.”

Summary
I’ve fallen to the Polytrix propaganda and im not regretting it at all.
Mira was always the composed one. As an idol, as a demon hunter, and especially when it came to her feelings. But none of it stops the slow-burning pull she feels toward Rumi and Zoey—her teammates, her friends, and maybe something more?
Then everything changes during the Idol Awards, when Rumi’s secret is exposed under the stage lights. The mission says to fight. Her heart says something else.
Now Mira is caught between duty, love, and everything she’s never been brave enough to say.
