Summary
The Medusans possess navigation technology beyond the Federation's wildest dreams. Literally. But nonetheless Starfleet wants to make those dreams a reality, risk of going insane in the pursuit be damned. Which means that Captain Kirk and his crew are tasked with ferrying a trio on their way to the Medusan homeworld where a telepathic bonding between a Medusan and a human will help facilitate an expansion of the Federation navigation tech. The Enterprise's passengers are, according to the private log Kirk keeps in his head:

Summary
In Nyota Uhura's opinion, James Kirk is incredibly annoying. Charming, cute, and earnest to a fault, but also so very, very annoying. Yet he does something to Spock, something powerful and delicious, so Uhura is determined to focus on the captain's good traits and to work on breaking him of his bad habits.
Easier said than done, but if anyone is up to the task of breaking a cocky alpha, it's Uhura.

She can't remember when it started, and it must have been gradual because Nyota knows once upon a time she would have shut that shit down post fucking haste, and he'd never have said another word. But Kirk is sneaky, and he snuck up on her, and now he's here, sitting next to her on the banquette with the smiling eyes and the booming laughter and the hand on Spock's shoulder and it's like…why didn't she think of this herself?

Summary
Very few people can make Spock feel emotion. Jim is one of those few. He has the ability to cause emotions in Spock without even trying. So when Spock has the opportunity to let him emotions run free with Jim, he takes it. It is illogical to have sex with Jim, especially when Jim thinks he is a woman with the genitals to match, but sometimes emotions outweigh logic.
