"Death dealer—that's what they call themselves." Johnny interrupted, glancing back at the stranger's sinister figure. "Risky, I know, but it's worth a shot."
"We're not that desperate, mate." Scoffed Kyle, crossing his arms over his chest. "Look at it! It’s more dead than alive."
"Bet he won't survive more than a week." A woman beside them huffed and sat by Kyle’s side. "Given his condition, if he survives his injuries, it'll already be a miracle."
"Looks like you'll need to find another one." Kyle remarked, offering a warm pat on his friend's shoulder, though he struggled to contain his amusement afterwards. "It might be for the best, you know? If he doesn't make it out alive. Not many of us approve of your experiments."
"They may not realise it yet, but that death dealer could be exactly what we've been needing."

It was just another evening of scrolling his phone, and Soap had stumbled onto a new distraction
A pair of large hands wearing clean, black nitrile gloves. A gorgeous butcher-block counter. A chef’s knife that probably cost two months' pay. A cast iron skillet that probably cost three months’ pay. A chunk of Wagyu beef that made Soap’s mouth water and his wallet recoil.
Tonight, Soap was watching the most pretentious, over-the-top food preparation he had ever seen.

It occurred to him, as he watched Simon stand and tug his own boots off, that he wouldn't have to go to Gaz to feed tonight. He could do so here, now, on the Hunter currently standing before him. He hadn't fed like that in years, and the longer he spent here, drunk on Simon's arousal, eyes feasting on all that exposed, inked skin, the more the Hunter's blood called to him. He wanted it.
