Summary
The snitch flits suddenly lower in its trajectory. The change in direction costs it some of its forward momentum, and this causes Potter to gain on it, though it remains out of range by virtue of now being nearer to the ground than he is. Potter, realizing this, rolls abruptly on his broom to hang upside down. One hand is already beginning to release the handle to reach out-… and Potter doesn’t see the bludger. The poorly aimed bludger, shot off by Draco doesn’t even know which team, which has flown low. Except Potter now flies low – and it hits him right in the side of his head. And Potter just goes loose. Drops like a rag from his broom, velocity continuing to carry him forward, but his body quickly beginning to arc downwards. They’re high up, but not that high up; he’ll be crashing into the ground in no time at all. And Draco…
Draco was already chasing. He catches.

Summary
“Are you going to leave?” Steve’s back is to him, so Eddie can see the way he tenses up, muscles beneath his plain black shirt bunching up.
It’s not: are you leaving before I pick up Max?
He could be difficult, if he wanted. He could ask Steve to clarify, he could ask Steve if he’s ever planning to leave. He could stand up and just do it, putting them both out of their misery. One day they might be better off for it, even if the hurt is too much to stand right now. Even if it feels impossible.
“Not right now,” Eddie says, which sounds a lot like not without you.
“Okay,” Steve says, which sounds a lot like thank you.
98% of the population disappears. Hawkins becomes a ghost town.
Or: three years after, Steve, Eddie and Max try to carve out a life together.

Summary
If this is how things were meant to be, if he’d somehow successfully read the room for the first time in his life, then all he can really do is be happy for his friend. That’s what friends are for, anyway, and there’s nothing less valuable about friendship than there is about romance—and ultimately, what matters most is that Steve is happy. And if Steve’s happy, then Eddie’s happy. That’s just how it is.
Within a week, he’s disguised on a bus to somewhere that’s not here, and he’s gone.
The Party saves the world in 1986, everybody lives, and Steve goes back to Nancy.

Summary
Eddie works himself up to ask Steve if he can borrow his instant camera, because the type of pictures he wants to take are…not the kind he can get developed in town.
Turns out, Steve's happy to help out. Even if the guy Eddie's taking sexy pictures for is not him.
Or is it?
