    Taylor Hebert gained the power to command bugs on January 4, 2011. Emily Piggot bore witness as the new Parahuman’s soul was bound to eight others.
    Or, Parahumans weren’t the only altered humans created upon Scion’s arrival. He also gave rise to the Sensates. And they shall be his downfall.

    Basically, the gist of this is that Sensate abilities were present in a previous cycle and are now infesting Master triggers, as a last act of resistance from the Sensates of that world.
