Buck aches.
His leg aches, his head swims, and his heart seizes.
Now that Eddie is in Texas, Buck’s usual anchor feels far out of reach.
It’s too easy to slip back into old patterns as the memories he so carefully boxed away start to claw their way out.
He’s survived worse. But this time, it’s quiet.
This time, there’s no fire, no chaos
And that might be the most dangerous part.Bookmarked by AssassinsReader

Summary
Eddie always thought his soulmark felt less like a promise and more like a countdown.
Two lines, dark against his skin.
He learns to hide them. Learns not to hope. Learns not to imagine the person those words might belong to.
Then Buck says the first line in the middle of a storm, casual and smiling and impossibly alive, and Eddie’s whole world narrows to one terrible truth.
Buck is his soulmate.
or

Summary
His Captain's head snapped toward him, a strange smile on his face. "Buck, come here." He beckoned. Hesitantly, Buck obeyed, but he stuttered to a stop when he spotted what Bobby had been looking at.
Who Bobby had been looking at. Perched on one of the stools with a half eaten sandwich in front of her, was a tiny little girl, a backpack much too big for her hanging off her shoulders. "W—What—?" Buck croaked out, his eyes widening as his throat went dry.
(Or, Buck has a daughter.)
